Quebec Youth Wins National Safety Video Contest
The Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) awarded the winners of the Focus on Safety Youth Video Contest. The contest challenged youth from all across Canada to produce an original video that illustrates the importance of workplace safety and younger workers. The winners received a cash prize and a matched amount for their educational institution.
The winner this year was Cédrick Provost, Xavier Provost and Mollie Fillion from Quebec who created an emotionally driven video entitled Au Revoir. The video shows the heartbreak a parent feels at the loss of their child in a workplace accident.
“This contest is unique because it gives youth across the country a chance to share their own unique perspectives of what workplace safety means to them,” said the president and CEO of CCOHS, Anne Tennier. “Congratulations to the winners and all participants on helping raise awareness of the importance of workplace safety.”
Congratulations to Cédrick Provost, Xavier Provost and Mollie Fillion as well as all the other entrants on your incredible creativity. Your submissions are a fantastic way to get young workers more involved in safety at their workplace.
